India vs Sri Lanka, 3rd Test, Day 2 in Delhi: Rohit Sharma hits a gigantic Six

Rohit Sharma hits a gigantic Six

Even as the Indian cricket team look to put the seal on a ninth consecutive series win in the third and final Test match against Sri Lanka at the Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi, they have made it a point to doff their hats to the Indian Armed forces. Recognising the massive contribution of the Army, the Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli are sporting the Armed Forces Flag badges on their whites. The badge which is placed just below the crest of the shirt will be there through the Test match to commemorate the Armed Forces Week.

Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay put on 283 runs for the third wicket as India reached 371-4 at stumps on Day one of the third Test against Sri Lanka on Saturday. At the close of play, Kohli was unbeaten on 156 and Rohit Sharma was 6 not out. Vijay scored 155 runs for his 11th Test century.

First six of the game as Rohit drives this one from Sandakan over extra cover. The crowd loves it and shows that intent is still the keyword for the Indian batsmen here. It was the full ball from Sandakan, he’s trying the wrong ‘un, but overcooks it, lands it in the right slot for the lofted drive, Rohit gets close to the ball and thumps it over mid-off, went a long way over the ropes.
